Ellinicon 3: Completion of roof insulation

May 31, 2017

Ellinicon 3 roof insulation completed in May

The insulation was completed in the following stages:

  1. Waterproofing, with the use of BAYER’s PmB, the most advanced, 2 component, elastomeric polyurethane insulation system. PmB has been aproved by the British Board of Agreement (BBA), as a high performance insulation system. It is seamless and has a high elastic adhesion to concrete (300% elasticity).
  1. Heatproofing with a 6cm layer of expanded polystyrene. The use of this material is paramount, for the building to be classified as A+ energy efficient.
  1. The polystyrene layer is covered with reinforced cement.
  1. The final stage includes the installation of anti-slip granite tiles (category R-11), measuring 80x80cm each.
